I hope you all had a restful and revitalizing long weekend. Lighthouse expects a lot from families, students and staff and we all deserve some time to rest and reflect. I want to start December by discussing work being done by our School Site Leadership Team. A quick reminder, our School Site Leadership Team is a mix of staff and families who meet on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss school issues and strategize actions. What follows is a list of topics. We need you to do the following:

    3. Return with your child in their Tuesday envelope

SSLT has identified a need for better family-to-family communication and we want to compose a school phone book to make communication easier. Before we compose the phonebook, we want to make sure we only include information that you release. We also want to ensure that we have your correct information. Safe Crossing

As you all know, we stay in school late. In December it is dark by the time students are leaving and being picked up at 5:30. Many families and students need to cross Telegraph to get home. We feel that crossing Telegraph at 20th street is not safe because cars drive often through the light. We are asking that if you need to cross Telegraph — cross ONLY at Williams Street in front of SEARS (see picture). Please help us keep our children safe!

1st Annual Family Education Night

Hello all! The School Site Leadership Team is beginning to plan our 1st Annual Family Education Night for January. This night will include informational tables and workshops. The informational tables will be for all families to visit throughout the evening and will be on display in the school hallway. The Family Workshops will be scheduled for different times during the evening. SSLT wants to know what you are interested in so we can plan the best possible evening.
