Hello friends and families,

As the winter holidays approach we need to remind everyone of the importance of your child’s healthy attendance. Many families travel and take their child out of school at this time of year. We stress the importance of your child’s attendance for two vital reasons:

    1. Student learning is slowed when away from school
    2. Lighthouse loses valuable funds when students are away from school

In order to ensure your child’s learning is maximized and the school continues to be funded at the highest level possible, please plan your vacations around the existing school holidays. If this is not possible, you must sign-up your child for independent study if you absolutely have no other option and you must remove your child from class. Independent study allows a child to miss school, complete the work they would miss, and allows the school to count the child present for attendance purposes. Independent study can be as short as one day, if necessary. Here are the steps you need to take to ensure that your child continues their learning and Lighthouse does not lose valuable funding:

Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter!

Facility

We know that you are all wondering about where our school will be in the next year and we have been discussing our options with our facility owner. We are currently looking to find our permanent facility and a short-term solution until we enter our permanent facility. Until we solidify our options, we have been assured by our facility owner that we can still be at our current site if we do not find a perfect site for next year. So while we look, don’t worry because we do have a home for next year.

Lost and Found

The "Lost and Found" pile in the main office is becoming a mountain! Please claim any items by Friday. Whatever is in the pile on Friday will be donated to Goodwill.

Have a great week and thanks to all of you who are participating in the life of the school!

Yours,

Steve and Jenna
