We are thrilled to announce the opening of our state-of-the-art K-12 learning facility in East Oakland.

The new building and adjoining yards designed for play and learning, create a new haven for teaching and learning in Oakland.  The campus houses 70,000 square feet of classrooms and offices, a full-service K – 12 library, two state-of-the art media labs, art and music studios, a K – 12 multi-purpose space and kitchen, a family resource center, two internal learning courtyards, and a yard complete with a flex field, age-appropriate play structures, gardens, and community spaces.

Lighthouse Soars in Statewide Rankings - K-8 Earns a 10 out of 10 in Similar Schools, High School Earns an 8 out of 10
Each year the State of California takes the Lighthouse API data and compares our work against the work of schools across the state. They then generate two state rankings: one for how we compare to all schools in the state and one that compares us to similar schools in the state (schools that serve similar populations of students to ours). For the 2007-08 school year, the K-8 statewide ranking was a 5 out of 10 (up from 2 the previous year) and our statewide similar schools ranking was a 10 out of 10 (up from 5 the previous year)! In addition, we had great growth and achievement at the high school level as well - our statewide ranking was a 4 out of 10 (up from 2 the previous year) and our statewide similar schools ranking was an 8 out of 10 (we were too small to have one the previous year)! The entire Lighthouse community is truly “On the Move.”
