Lighthouse is a tuition-free public charter school serving K-12 students in a state-of-the-art facility at 444 Hegenberger Road in Oakland.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS
Lighthouse Community Charter School is open to any student living in the State of California. The application process is as follows:

  • Optional school tour
  • Mandatory enrollment meeting
  • Application
  • Random public lottery

SCHOOL TOURS & OPEN HOUSES
Your chance to see our school and its mission in action!  To reserve a space on the tour, please RSVP at 510-562-8801 (K-8) or 510-562-8225 (9-12). Please note that no application materials will be distributed at the Open House/School Tours.

• Thursday, December 3, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Monday, December 7, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Friday, December 11, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Monday, December 14, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Wednesday, January 13, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

ENROLLMENT MEETINGS:
All interested families are required to attend an enrollment meeting. Applications are handed out at the enrollment meeting, after families have heard a brief presentation on our school and its unique educational philosophy. Enrollment meetings will be held at the following dates and times:

• Monday, December 7, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, December 10, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Monday, December 14, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, December 16, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Wednesday, January 6, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, January 13, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, January 14, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Deadline for completed applications is Friday, January 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

APPLICATIONS & LOTTERY:
Students are NOT enrolled on a “first-come, first-served” basis. All applications are compiled, then a public lottery is held to allocate available spaces.
