At LCCS, we believe that homework is an essential opportunity
for students to practice skills they have been taught during school.
The more confident and comfortable students are with their skills,
the more than can contribute and progress with their learning.
Homework is also viewed as a bridge between home and school, giving
students an opportunity to share their work with and involve family
members.
Parents are responsible for monitoring and assisting with homework
assignments of their child. Students will be assigned homework
by the child’s teacher at least three days per week.
Each child should attempt to complete homework independently,
but may need assistance. IF you child needs assistance, please
do not do his or her homework for him/her. As a parent, guide
your child in doing the best that he or she can, allowing them
to do their own work.
When homework is not completed, consequences will be enforced. Incomplete homework is excused only with appropriate
documentation from a parent or a caregiver, indicating that illness
or other circumstances prevented the student from completing his/her
homework. If a child is struggling to complete homework because
of the difficulty of the work, please contact your child’s
teacher to schedule a conference.
