Governance Structure of LCCS
The Governance Structure of LCCS provides opportunities for all members of the school community to be involved in the decision-making process. Governance includes distributed leadership opportunities for different constituent members focusing their energy on issues specific to their interests.

Lighthouse Parent Advisory Committee (LPAC)
The mission of the Lighthouse Parent Advisory Committee is to:

1. Support LCCS in providing a diverse culture & preparing a diverse K-12 student population for college or a career of their choice.
2. Support the directors/teachers in accomplishing their mission.
3. Support the students in achieving their goals.
4. Be a sounding board for members of the Lighthouse community and a liaison between the Lighthouse community & the classroom.
5. Set the goals of the Lighthouse community and see that the goals are achieved.

The LPAC consists of voluntary parent representatives of each K-2 classroom and each 6-8 advisory and is governed by annually elected officials. Current officials include:

  • Co-chairs - Cheryl Reed & Rosa Garcia
  • Secretary - Celia Beub

Board of Directors
The LCCS Board of Directors makes the major business decisions in relation to the school’s legal and fiscal viability. The Board meets the second Wednesday of every even month at 6:15 pm. The LCCS Board of Directors is composed of the following people:

  • Susan Harper, Board Treasurer
    Director of Education, Low Income Investment Fund

    Executive Director, East Bay Consortium
  • Soo Zee Park

Leadership Team
The Leadership Team serves as a strategic planning and steering committee for school improvement proposals. The Leadership Team meets on a weekly basis and is composed of all Lighthouse staff with leadership responsibilities, which include:

  • Administrative Staff
  • Lead Teachers
  • Home Language Coordinator
